OBJECTIVES
- To have CEEBM-NET as an inter-disciplinary and inter-professional forum, where we can share our knowledge and expertise to reach our goals.
- To provide networking opportunities for health care and policy professionals, researchers, academics and everyone interested in the field of behavioural medicine and public health.
- To increase global interest in BM research and practice from a regional perspective.
We aim to cooperate in the following fields so as to integrate behavioural medicine and sciences with traditional medicine and public health:
- Research cooperation: between researchers, clinicians and health policy professionals to examine how behavioural medicine research and practice can be used to understand the health issues of countries undergoing rapid political and economic transition and how to address these health challenges in the future.
- Clinical applications: to adapt and evaluate the evidence based behavioural medicine interventions for preventing the health crisis in the region.
- Education and training: to give and promote education and training how to implement BM interventions in health promotion and clinical practice. To specify the levels, formats and contents of according to the specific local and regional tasks. To exchange of educational methods and materials between institutions and countries.
- BM Organisations: to help to give birth of national BM societies and institutions in the region.
First activities:
- Stimulate communication and information exchange;
- Establishment of the CEEBM-NET website: www.ceebm-net.hu;
- Formal establishment of a Steering Committee of network and outline its organisational guidelines;
- Organise the 1st CEEBM-NET Symposium: in Targu-Mures, Romania, 14-16 October, 2005.
We hereby INVITE YOU and your colleagues to join the network and help creating and broadening a really active and functioning cooperation, which will strengthen the social capital in our region.
